Martial Arts for Adults!
Our Martial Arts for the Mature Adult program is specifically designed to facilitate age appropriate training for adult students ages 45 and above. We have two classes available:
Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do
This class focuses on a traditional approach to Tae Kwon-Do and Hapkido while largely eliminating most of the heavily ballistic movements, which can be dangerous to practice as students get older. Our classes have been proven to help with balance, flexibility, better overall physical fitness, mental clarity, while giving a solid foundation of self-defense training. Many studies have shown that regular exercise—especially in a martial arts training regimen—can greatly reduce many of the ailments that go along with the aging process such as: osteoporosis, early onset Alzheimer’s disease, hypertension, loss of balance and muscular strength. Our classes are meant for everyone of all skill and fitness levels. We will teach and guide you toward better physical fitness, while helping you learn fun, interactive, and safe martial arts.
This gentle class focuses on the benefits of getting into the "flow" of Tae Kwon Do with the intimation of having to learn difficult and often long forms. In an easy to follow format, the student can enjoy this fascinating and relaxing art!
We are the only martial arts school in the Portland-Gresham area which offers a classes focused on Baby boomers and Seniors.
